Not the Home of Rib Rub

In the last year that I've owned the savorthis.com domain I've received a handful of emails pleading for more rib rub, summer chicken sprinkle and various jars of goos. People were desperate to replace their wonderful spices apparently from a place called Savor This and were emailing a variety of made-up departments hoping to end their search. Each time I had to sadly inform them that I was not the manufacturer they sought. I then passed along my own rib rub and meat marvel recipes. Several people wrote back many thanks. Others, perhaps, were just too disheartened.

If anyone has information on the other Savor This, I'd love to hear about it so I can pass along the poor wanderers. For those still searching, all I can do is offer my favorite rib method:

Mix equal parts brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika. Add a tablespoon each of other favorite spices like cumin, granulated onion or garlic. Sprinkle a bit of heat with cayenne or chipotle powder (adds great smoky flavor).

Rub spareribs all over with spice mixture and let marinate for a couple hours or overnight. Place ribs in a baking dish on a rack or improvise with a u-shaped wad of foil. Cover tightly with foil and cook at 300 for a couple hours or until you can gently pull a bone from the meat. Grill or broil ribs while slathering on a good bbq sauce until ribs are sticky and sizzling and the sauce has caramelized a bit.
